Accredited
Given official approval to act: "an accredited college."

Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA)
Association containing a web page a various books and magazines dedicated to Pilots.

Airman Medical Examiner (AME)
A FAA certified examiner responsible for the Medical Exams in which a pilot will receive his/her Student Pilot Certificate.

Alcoholism
Continued Excessive and uncontrollable use of alcoholic drinks.

Chronic Heart Disease
A structural or functional abnormality of the heart, or of the blood vessels supplying the heart, that impairs its normal functioning.

Cognitive Screening Test
Test which shows you have the mental capability of multi-tasking.

Comair Regional AirLines
A subsidiary of Delta, which offers over 800 daily departures to 95 cities from Canada to the Bahamas, the Great Plains to the Atlantic. Comair operates Canadair Regional Jets from its Cincinnati and Orlando hubs.

Crop-Dusting
The process of spraying crops with powdered insecticides or fungicides from an airplane.

Epilepsy
Disorder typically marked by disturbed electrical rhythms of the central nervous system, by attacks of convulsions, and by loss of consciousness.

Medical Exam
The process by which you are physically examined by an Airman Medical Examiner to receive your Student Pilot Certificate.

Practical Test
An oral exam and a flight test, in which you demonstrate your knowledge and proficiency as a pilot.

Recommendation
A favorable statement concerning character or qualifications.

Student Pilot Certificate (medical certificate)
Document received after your medical exam which states that you are eligible to fly solo.

Universal Pilot Application Services (UPAS)
A Service dedicated in helping Pilots get hired. Meant for Resumes and applications for the hiring process.

Visual Flight Rule (FVR)
Means having a visibility of at least three miles, as well as at night.
